jensen boots

February 28, 2016

I would like to introduce to you all my new Jensen boots. I am in looooove with them. I've had my eye on these for a while but I never thought to get them because of the price. However, getting older, I've learned that you need to invest in certain items because even though you can buy multiple shoes that are cheaper in price, the quality really reflects in what you pay. Black ankle boots are essentials to me; I wear them literally all year round, sometimes even when it's 90 degrees outside so an investment in a pair of these is definitely worth it. Every year I struggle to find a new pair of black ankle boots and it keeps getting harder and harder to find a pair that I really love.

I have a few friends that have this boot so after asking questions, and even trying on a pair (hi Vanessa) I knew I had to get it. After asking and researching, I learned that the boot stretches so it's better to size down than up. I'm normally a size 5.5 but I can fit 6 in boots since socks fill up some space, but for the Jensen boots I got a size 35, which is the smallest. When I tried on Vanessa's, which were size 36, they were definitely way too loose on me.  At Acne Studios, I asked to try the 35 and they fit perfectly and the sales associate also told me that over time it would stretch out to fit even more comfortably. I decided on the grain leather because I've seen that the smooth leather creases easily whereas the grain leather creases too, but creases 'better' if that makes sense.

Thankful for the red envelopes I collected during Chinese New Year that helped buy me these beauties. Look forward to #ootds with my new boots! If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask :)

furry

February 22, 2016

Just walking around New York City in a furry jacket with flurries falling from the sky. I've been obsessed with this coat that I scored on sale for $25 from Target. I've been searching for a furry jacket like this since last year but most that I've ordered online are always huge and pretty much eat me alive so you could imagine how excited I was when I came across this one.

Coincidentally, the day my friend and I decided to shoot, it started to snow. At first, it felt like an intrusion to our photoshoot but after seeing how nice the snow came out in our photos, we loved it and took as many photos as we could before we felt like our hands were about to fall off. It definitely would've been a smart idea to have brought out gloves that day.  I love how my white furry jacket blended in so nicely with the falling snow.  It was a bad day to carry my Prada though since it doesn't have a zipper so snow was falling inside my bag.  I've never appreciated the snow so much until that day. Thank you flurry nature for making our photos come out so lovely.
